Let us see the different types of sailing races in detail:

  1. Match Racing: It is a short 20-minute race wherein two boats of identical types contest with each other.  The first one to cross the finish line will be the winner.
  2. Team Racing: Normally two teams with three racing boats each compete with each other in team racing.  Fast and prudent decision-making skills, as well as good boat handling qualities, are needed for team race contestant.  The cumulative score of each team would determine the winning team.
  3. Fleet racing: It is the common form of boat racing.  Hop over to this site to know full details on fleet racing.  Fleet racing can be for any length of time duration.  All the contestants can be either identical boats or different types of boats.
  4. Oceanic and Offshore sailing: Basically, these two types are long-distance racing covering at least 800 miles.  Offshore sailing is conducted on protected waters and is safer than oceanic racing.  There are special regulations for offshore racing which the contestants should adhere.
  5. Disabled sailing: Good news is that even people with disabilities can participate in sailing races.  You should have heard about Paralympic game-type events.  However, few of the disabled who have more capacity to withstand fared well when compared with similar contestants.
  6. Cruising: It is a long-distance sail crossing numerous oceans and nations.  Because of this factor, the contestants should update themselves with safety concerns against piracy.

Piracy is a dangerous threat which sailing racers face very often.  The following points can help in protecting themselves from pirates:

  1. At the nighttime, do not display any valuable item on the boat. You can remove the outboard and keep it out of sight.
  2. The boarding ladder can be lifted up. This is one easy trick to prevent pirates from entering the race boat.
  3. The crew head should inspect the boat and if he feels that few internal cabins can cause safety issues, it is better to keep them locked.
  4. Nowadays infrared alarms are available which can be easily fixed in the cockpit and can be used in case of emergency.
  5. When you are not sure about the nearing boat, set up an anchor and start watching. Analyze the situation and find out the safest course to steer and push off immediately.

Carrying weapons along board has its disadvantages while sailing race.  Hence it is better to avoid using them.

LEVERAGE TRADING

In general, trading is the act of buying and selling. Crypto currency trading is nothing but buying and selling of the crypto currencies like bitcoin, Ethereum and so on. This weblink redirects you to the other bitcoin trading systems like BTC Profit System. This trading is taken to the next level of leveraged trading. The word is appropriate for the traders who wish to optimize their income. This can be achieved by the positions being held for a short period of time. In this type of leveraged trading yields only profit even at the time of both profit and loss. The leverage amount is offered on the series of 1x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 75x, 100x. The leverage amount can be set by the trader itself. This is based on the Bit Seven index. Bit Seven leveraged trading is a service. It works simply by offering leverage to the crypto currency when the price changes. Based on the existing strategy, a trader can place up order or the down order for the increased profit. The Bit Seven index works based on the price quotations from different crypto currency exchanges like Poloniex, Coinbase, and Binance exchanges.

Like the users of BTC Profit System, these users can also trade with digital assets like bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Ripple. These digital assets are the one that is not available in the physical form like the normal currencies. They do not come under government regulations. This type of trading can be done at a convenient time. This can be done all 24 hours a day and all the 365 days of the year. There is no constrains regarding the timings which are very useful for all people around the globe who have several other commitments. Adding to this functionality, the trading can be done at any place and in any smart devices. The work of trading can be done using mobile phones, computers, laptops, and similar devices. On the 30th of every month, server maintenance occurs. This is carried out at the time of 11:00 a.m to the 11:30 a.m (UTC time). During the time of maintenance, new orders can never be processed. But, the held positions can be held as such.

One can trade only with the available balance for that particular person. Available balance is the amount at that state of trade. The trading has no taxes being imposed on the profit obtained. Both the deposit and the withdrawal are made only through the help of bitcoin.

Newport, Rhode Island

NEWPORT, R.I. (September 22, 2016) – It’s never too early to start planning for next year’s Ida Lewis Distance Race, scheduled to start on Friday, August 18, 2017. It’s a late-summer sailing tradition loved by grand prix racers and cruising sailors alike and open to IRC, PHRF, One Design, Multihull and Double-Handed boats of 28 feet or longer. Some say it’s the perfect overnight distance – between 104 and 177 nm depending on what the Race Committee thinks best suits the conditions – and gives old salts a challenge while offering newcomers a cool introduction to offshore racing. And there are plenty of trophies to be won, including for best youth and collegiate team entries!

The 13th edition of the Ida Lewis Distance Race starts and finishes off Newport’s historic Ida Lewis Yacht Club, which sits famously on a rock in Newport Harbor, and includes turning marks at Castle Hill, Brenton Reef, Block Island, Montauk Point, Martha’s Vineyard and Buzzards Tower. It is a qualifier for the New England Lighthouse Series (PHRF); the Northern and Double-Handed Ocean Racing Trophies (IRC); and the Rhode Island Offshore Challenge.

NEWPORT, R.I. (August 15, 2016) – Take a lunch break on Friday, August 19 and watch the start of the Ida Lewis Distance Race beginning at 12:30 off Fort Adams State Park. Over 40 boats in four divisions – IRC, PHRF Spinnaker, Double-Handed and Cruising Spinnaker – will jockey for best positions on the starting line just like in traditional around-the-buoys racing, but shortly thereafter, skippers, navigators and crew will have to shift to offshore mode as they sail past Castle Hill and into the distance on one of four courses, decided prior to the start based on conditions. The courses run in length between 107 and 169 miles and incorporate waypoints such as Buzzards Bay Tower, Point Judith, Block Island and Montauk, giving sailors an interesting and beautifully scenic experience in this overnight “sprint” that has become a popular late-summer racing tradition in New England.

Double the Challenge, Double the Fun

Ida Lewis Distance Race Part of Rhode Island Offshore Challenge

NEWPORT, R.I. (April 20, 2016) – Talk about stretching one’s sailing legs. Last year, Tristan Mouligne of Boston was about to compete in his sixth Ida Lewis Distance Race, a New England classic that is hosted by Newport’s Ida Lewis Yacht Club and scheduled for its 12th edition this year on Friday, August 19. He learned of a new challenge whereby he could win an overall trophy if he and his team could turn in the best combined score for competing in both the Ida Lewis race and the Sid Clark Offshore Race, which dates back to 1904 and is hosted by Bristol Yacht Club. Turns out, Mouligne had both the stride and stamina to make history. His Quest 30 Samba won class at both events and overall at Sid Clark to become the first-time winner of the Rhode Island Offshore Challenge Trophy, presented jointly by both clubs.
